From Breeches and Boat Shoes:

What is your favorite equestrian-specific product that you use when you’re at the barn?

Saddle pads. I have too many already and yet I still want more. I’d really like to add a saddle fit half pad, an Ogilvy, and more colors. Always more colors.
What is your favorite non equestrian-specific product to use when you’re at the barn?Isopropyl Alchohol. I go through a lot of this stuff. I’ve been using it for years even before we weren’t allowed to bathe because of the drought. If you dump some in your water bucket and sponge off with it after a sweaty ride, the alcohol not only speeds drying, but kills any weird fungus or bacteria. Shasta is particularly prone to rain rot if not dried off properly. As we’re not allowed to bathe, we keep alcohol and water in a  spray bottle and spray down sweaty parts after every ride. I even keep a travel-sized spray bottle in my saddle bags on trail rides and spray it on Nilla’s neck. I spray down my helmet and vest if they get really sweaty too.
You know how the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding puts Windex on everything? That’s me with Alcohol.

What is your horse’s favorite equestrian-specific product to wear or use?Nilla loves her hackamore. She wishes I would never use a bit ever.

Bits suck
What was the best equestrian-related gift you were ever given, and why does it mean so much to you?

My prestige saddle. Technically I bought this myself, but I was given half the funds for it as a xmas/birthday/everything that year gift. I still have that saddle. I still love that saddle.

If you had the ability to create any product or anything to make your time at the barn better, – no matter how ridiculous or against-the-laws-of-physics it might be – what would that be?

Self-cleaning horses. I hate grooming. I want to just show up and have a fantastically clean and shiny horse. This horse should also never grow a winter coat because I hate fuzzy horses and clipped horses .

Isabel loves her hackamore too. And maybe she would be your "self cleaning horse" haha – rarely gets dirty and dislikes long grooming sessions anyway. Me tho? I love the grooming… So she suffers it haha
