TOABH: Wish We Could

Let’s pretend that financial restrictions don’t exist and logistics isn’t a nightmare.  If you could do anything with your Ponykins, what would you do?

Polo
If I could afford it, I’d be playing polo right now. It’s fast-paced and fun without the insane danger of jumping solid objects like the other horse sports I’d like to do (eventing and fox hunting).
None of my horses would make good polo ponies. Shasta has the athletic ability, but she’s not capable of being near other horses without trying to kill them. Polo Ponies have to stand tied all together, ride close together, bump into each other, and generally tolerate having their space invaded. Shasta doesn’t like the mere existence of other horses, let alone having them near her. Dijon falls down just walking around and Nilla hasn’t fully mastered the concept of turning, let alone spinning.

So, I’d need a string of ponies, a trailer, all of the equipment, and club membership. I don’t think this one will be happening soon.

Foxhunting
Once again, I lack the horse to do this with. Shasta could, but she’s not mine. I am hoping to eventually get Nilla to a level where she could jump small jumps, but her conformation isn’t up to doing over 3′. If we get a trailer, I’d like to do a hunter pace and a hilltopper try-out with the local hunting club, but that’s also very expensive.
Full Training
Finally, if I had the money and the time, I’d love to board at full-care facility with full-training. I’d want to ride nearly every day and actually learn how to be a better rider. I love my current barn, but I do miss having real and regular access to trainers. I’d also love to just kick back and not get up early in the morning to clean stalls. I’d like to have an indoor so I don’t miss riding because it’s raining or dark.
