16. Your most recent fall
I don’t remember when, but I fell off Dijon a few months ago. I was trying to get on him and he does not do standing still for mounting. Ever since breaking my back, I’m a lot less limber about mounting and can’t just bounce on. I was riding bareback and using the tiny stepstool so I had to wiggle on. He just walked off, then got spooked at me being half on and jumped sideways to dump me. As awesome as he is, he’s also sort of a jerk so this isn’t even unprecedented. I usually try to get someone to hold him still when mounting bareback. Stirrups at lest keep me with him as he goes so I’m fine when he’s got a saddle on.
