We brought Eugene home on Sunday.
Predictably, Shasta hated him:
Interestingly, Nilla also hated him. She’s always been completely submissive with every horse she’s met and she was running along the fence and kicking at him. I’ve never seen her act like this.
He was very chill about all of it. No kicking or even pinning his ears. My husband walked him into his stall and he came in, but ran away when Nilla put her head around the door and pinned her ears at him. So we left him with his hay out in the paddock. Hopefully they’ll all settle down soon.
My husband also rode him for the first time, but I’ll have another post about that soon.
Poor dude! Hopefully everyone gets over his presence soon!
Poor guy is between TWO sassy ladies. LOL
I don't think he's been around mares since he was in the wild (5 years ago) so he's probably extra confused.
He definitely wants to be friends.
Being the new kid is rough!
Being new sucks.
I like how didn't seem to freak out. Everyone will settle down I'm sure.
Word from the BO is they were better this morning. I'm sure they'll be fine.
Aww what a cutie, congrats on bringing him home.
Thanks. I think he's gonna be even better looking when we get some vitamins and grooming into him and fix his coat.
