Step 1. Move to California. You can’t afford to live here, but don’t worry, no one can, so you can join the club of people complaining about how you can’t afford to live here.

Step 2. Put on your T-shirt. You’ll want a tech shirt or something that helps with sweat. If it’s before 9 am, add a long sleeve shirt or light jacket.
It’s all about the layers… |
Step 3. Check the weather app to see if it’s going to rain.
Spoiler: there’s 0% chance of rain… ever |
Step 4. Your horse didn’t get the memo about the temperature and grew a coat to rival a wooly mammoth. He will be coated in sweat in minutes. After your ride, let him roll around in the dirt to get muddy before he dries off.

Step 5. Head home to order a turnout sheet because the light-weight blanket you ordered at the beginning of the winter is too warm for your hairy beast.
It was -15 (actual temp) for my drive to work this morning. siiiiiiiiigh.
I had to put on a jacket this morning. Actually I didn't have to, but I wanted to wear my new jacket. I may have to take it off and just be in a t-shirt all day.
In all honesty, I miss snow. I hate being cold so I'd complain if I lived in a cold place, but I love snow. And actually having seasons.
I am in the bay area too!!
I am in the bay area too!!
I added your blog. I try to follow all the bay area people I can find.
I wish I could move there and never have to deal with winter again, but since I can't… 😛
P.S. This was hilarious and I'm jealous of your 0% chance of rain because that's all it's been doing here and we're drowning in mud. We can't even get hay out for the horses without the tractor getting stuck…
