I love you, California

I love you, California, you’re the greatest state of all.

I love you in the winter, summer, spring and in the fall.

I love your fertile valleys; your dear mountains I adore.

I love your grand old ocean and I love her rugged shore.

When the snow crowned Golden Sierras

Keep their watch o’er the valleys bloom,

It is there I would be in our land by the sea,

Every breeze bearing rich perfume.

It is here nature gives of her rarest. It is Home Sweet Home to me,

And I know when I die I shall breathe my last sigh

For my sunny California.

I love your red-wood forests – love your fields of yellow grain.

I love your summer breezes and I love your winter rain.

I love you, land of flowers; land of honey, fruit and wine.

I love you, California; you have won this heart of mine.

I love your old gray Missions – love your vineyards stretching far.

I love you, California, with your Golden Gate ajar.

I love your purple sun-sets, love your skies of azure blue.

I love you, California; I just can’t help loving you.

I love you, Catalina, you are very dear to me.

I love you, Tamalpais, and I love Yosemite.

I love you, Land of Sunshine, half your beauties are untold.

I loved you in my childhood, and I’ll love you when I’m old.

I thought about it, but I haven’t done scrapbooking in years. Maybe in a few months when I’m stuck inside and bored because of 5 feet of snow.

But for now we’re moving east where it is very very cold.

Just an idea for one more line 😉

Best of luck on this new adventure!

I thought you wrote this!!! Smh. Good thing I moved to NV because they surely would’ve just taken away my CA residency for not knowing this was an actual state song after living there for my whole life practically.

Ha ha. I’m not so talented. And I also wouldn’t have included Catalina as it’s the one place in the song I haven’t made it to.

Love this! You may have seen more of the state (at least on horseback) then I have in 36 years living here, reminds me not take it for granted!

As we were preparing to leave, I realized just how much I haven’t seen. I’ll have to come back and play tourist to see the rest.

I think I have something in my eye…beautiful tribute to a gorgeous state. Must be hard to leave, but I can’t wait to hear about the new adventure!

Such great pictures!!! California really has everything (even if it might break off one day and float away 😂 jk!) Can’t wait to hear about your adventures east but you guys really made the best of your time in CA.

I think it’s more likely to burn before it breaks off. Earthquakes never really worried me, but I never experienced a bad one.

Beautiful photos and tribute! CA has so much to offer. The East Coast is amazing in its own right and I can’t wait to read about all the new adventures you will go on

We’re not too far. I mean, nothing is too far in the Northeast. I drove from Maine to NH to Vermont and vice versa several times when we were house shopping.

I had to stop reading this post because I can’t afford to give up my life here and move to California. Seriously though, so pretty!

Awwww….this made me feel sad. I “felt” it completely! I wrote a similar prose when I left Virginia 10 years ago! Now I feel the same about CA!
I just finished a 3 day backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierra, followed by a 15 mile Horse ride. CA is so beautiful indeed!
Thank you for sharing…May your new adventures on the East coast keep us all entertained and keep you in good stead and spirits as well!

Now you can take up sleighing to add to your “neighing”. 😆 don’t forget a few buffalo robes…hey and take up quilting! It helps the winter fly!

FYI- I’ve used Shutterfly for photo books….and calendars etc.
